Littlehampton's Community Love Festival

The environment

We make the community aware that these spaces are not only available to use, but we also show the community the various ways the open green space can be utilised. Our motto of "Keep the Green Clean" has been humbly plagiarised by many locally too. People within the community quite often are simply unaware these space exsist.

The local economy

Literally from the stage, to the sound techs, to the ambulance crew, to all the service providers including the marketing and print service providers for this event are local people or local companies. We commit to this for posterity reasons and in the future those providers stay connected with us, this is community cohesion. We have literally watched service providers families grow and members die, these strong bonds are the foundation to the Love Festival, hence the visitors are always remarking at how friendly and grass roots it feels when the come along, they more than often stay the whole day. This is proof of that testament. Keep local, Keep strong.

Volunteering, jobs & education

This year, we had three and four generations of volunteers and service providers working with us, literally whole families being involved, be that our own or that of our service providers.

Arts, culture & heritage

We were absolutely BLESSED to have the Pearly King and Queen plus Princess at our 2019 Love Fest. George Major charmed the crowds and kept circulating all day talk to the visitors telling them about the history and charitable work the Pearly Kings and Royalty do. Ourselves and the visitors were so impressed with his joyous personality and level of energy at approx 89yrs old, he still out paces people half his age. He is such an inspiration. :)

Activity, health and leisure

The Love Festival has always maintained it's physicality as a festival, children playing, children of all ages dancing, a hosted Circus Skills day long workshop for again children of all ages and abilities, and by this we actually mean adults and children, we do not separate the need expression or physical activity based on age or ability, hence our service providers are well trained and certificated to deal with all abilities and ages.
