About the Project Creator
‘Creative Arts, Creates Communities’ is our motto.
Whatever a persons abilities or level of art understanding, one thing is certain people of all ages learn through creative play, through laughter and through support. Art can provide this platform through expression either physically through performance or the enjoyment of performance, with participation be that assisting someone else less able or passing on previously learned knowledge or through creative speech by song or poetry.
Aims
LOCA aims to support arts development in Littlehampton and along the South Coast through working closely and supportively with other creative organisations as well as working with our local government offices in providing platforms of expression for the whole community. Our organisation also helps to achieve its aims through the beneficial interaction of our volunteer team who works directly within the community that they themselves are a part of. We strive to achieve these aims through:
- Providing various platforms for all to share and passing on Arts Opportunities to artisans through our channels of social media communications, we do this for all types of artist, performance based, written word and through urban and contemporary art, and all of this with a dash of Art History and fine arts.
- The development of a cohesive and supportive network of artisans and musicians through events and group projects. We also provide the support of finding venues either for exhibition or personal arts development for artisans experienced to novice.
- The management and development of a number of arts events held throughout the year such as Littlehampton Arts Trail and Arts Week, Brighton Fringe, Arundel Festival to name a few. This helps to expose novice artisans to a wider audience safely with support, this also assists very experienced artisans who are looking to develop their exposure or to try a new concept with their art. ‘A non-exclusive Arts organisation’
- The development of positive networks and partners for ourselves to work with as well as our artists.
- To promote and encourage local investment in the arts though all the above listed local and more national levels.
- The development of creative arts directly within the community of Littlehampton and along the South Coast region of the UK.
