More about our impact
The environment
The yard was improved with planting and creativity. The undercover space invaluable with social distancing and supporting mental health over the Covid period.
The local economy
Our pre Covid Heritage Open Days exhibition held under the Cowshed was a huge success with over 300 visitors, this supported local businesses and increased our profile. The space enable a weather proof event celebrating local people and place.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have key volunteers who support the garden space. This has helped us received Stratford In Bloom Awards during Covid the most innovative garden award with our Virtual Garden and Secret Knitted Garden.
Arts, culture & heritage
Public art bought people in, engaged local businesses and helped put Escape Arts on the map. The project and supporting exhibition helped celebrate Stratford's Lost Garden Heritage and bring the archives to life.
Activity, health and leisure
Our gardening worked promoted volunteering and physical wellbeing. This spearheaded our arts and nature programmes and led to us being commissioned to delivered WCC Arts and Nature for Health programmes. The Cowshed enabled us to restart face to face activities as soon as possible during Covid, providing a safe space to support mental health.
