Stroud Valleys Project is a community-based, volunteer-led organisation working to increase biodiversity and protect our local environment to make our district a better, healthier place to live, now and in the future. We provide ways for local people to take action for nature in a way that works for them. We consult with communities to identify green spaces needing protection or improvement, and we then work with people on meaningful projects that foster teamwork, self-confidence and a greater connection with the natural world.
We also deliver activities and events that inspire people young and old and make them feel more connected to nature. In this way, we promote a connection to the wider world that will make our district a better place to live.
Our charity started when Stroud's community came together to protect the built heritage of our own, and inspiring pride in our heritage and history is another vital part of our work.
We work in partnership with councils, community groups, schools, colleges and other charities, and we aim to dovetail our projects and events so they complement the work of others.
