We would like to train up more of our volunteers to become trained swimming coaches and teachers. Currently funds are limited but with more teachers we could run more sessions at our club

The local economy

The local economy

We have run c. 50 swimming sessions per week at the leisure centres in South Ribble providing income to the pool operators to continue to operate their facilities at a time of significant funding pressure

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

We have maintained (and grown) our volunteer base in 2023 with additional marshals, poolside helpers, coaches, teachers and committee members. This refresh of our volunteer base has been massively aided by our ability to offer funding for the mandated Swim England qualifications and training required.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

We run 50 sessions per week for our swimmers young and old which promotes the benefits of exercise and wellbeing. The funding has allowed us to afford to put one of our volunteers through Swim England Teaching Level 2 which has given us the ability to expand our small pool provision (the level after 'learn to swim'). This has meant we have been able to offer trials to join the club which has resulted in an influx of new members at the start of their swimming journey.
