The aim of the Minchinhampton Community Hub is to work with as many different people in the community as possible by providing accessible activities and facilities for sport, culture and connection. We welcome over 400 people into our buildings every week from all walks of life, with the aim of building community, and tackling societal issues including health & wellbeing, social isolation and the challenges being faced by our children and young people, especially post pandemic, to boost their social and life skills. Activities include
- Youth Club, currently running three weekly sessions which serve three school age groups, Years 2-5; Years 6-9 and Years 9-13
- Mother and Toddler group Minchkins which connects our youngest residents and their families and carers with key services including the school and health visitor service
- Community Gym five days a week serving our multi-generational community
- Providing facility to a free school to use
- Community Orchestra once a month
- Dog training classes
- Gymnastic classes
- Mobility group with the local surgery to encourage gentle exercise in the elderly
- Three community football teams train on our Astro turf including a women’s team.
