And The Pay As You Feel Shop Was Open As Usual!9 years ago

The fresh food selection was excellent yesterday - 4 different types of potato, parsnips, lettuce, watercress, mixed salad, fruit salad, tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, sweet peppers, chilli's, watermelon, honeydew melon, samphire, peaches, mushrooms, beetroot, bananas, mangoes, sweet peas and more! Even with the BBQ preparations we still opened the Pay As You Feel shop as usual, thanks to our dedicated volunteers of mothers, fathers, students and friends. The consistency and professionalism of the volunteers is the backbone to this service. Coupled with the incredible donations from local shops and supermarkets, this collaboration brings benefits to ALL. #BarnetTogether #Thankyou

Successful Commuity BBQ Result9 years ago

The community BBQ stopped traffic in Burnt Oak yesterday as the local community were treated to free burgers and hotdogs, fresh fruit and drinks - all food donated to The Real Junk Food Project North London who use the Love Bunt Oak spaces to distribute back to our community. Parents with children, old age pensioners, people of all abilities joined in the conversation and became more aware of what is on offer. Many welcomed the service and took the time to share their stories. For others this as a chance to simple speak with new people and make new connections. The impact was palpable. (See the new video)
