More about our impact
The environment
The production was conceived in a sustainable way, with props and costumes being sourced responsibly, including recycled paper used for programmes and many costume items being vintage rather than new.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Faust is a rarely performed classic text. A production such as this increases knowledge in participants and audience and also encourages people to get involved in theatre volunteering and more.
Arts, culture & heritage
This was a vibrant, exciting and inclusive community production, using a new translation - by a Lancaster-based translator - of an important cultural text: Goethe's Faust. By filming the production, there will be a lasting record of it for many people to watch. Pay What You Decide performances, which the funding allowed, meant that viewing the performance was more accessible.
Activity, health and leisure
Taking part in community theatre is hugely beneficial for health and well-being and this was evidenced through observation and the cast's reflections.
