A community production of a new translation of Goethe's Faust, performed in Lancaster city spaces and filmed to be shared widely.
Faust will be an exciting performance in autumn 2023 with a large cast of community actors of all ages. There will be 2 pay-what-you-decide performances - promenade style - using several city centre spaces - and this performance will also be filmed to be shared widely.

Why it's a great idea:
Open to all community actors, this will promote well-being, creativity, community and confidence. Funding will enable the performances to be pay-what-you-decide, so opening up theatre to those who may not be able to afford to pay theatre ticket prices. The film of a new translation of Faust will be of interest to many people, including students and will be a resource to be shared.

VolunteerEmma Rucastle is a Lancaster-based theatre director and creative practitioner. Passionate about inclusive theatre, she has devised and directed a wide variety of professional and community performances in theatres, libraries, churches, parks, streets, squares and castles. She has particular interests in early modern texts, verbatim theatre, audio drama and new writing.
