More about our impact
The local economy
We brought approx 3500 visitors to the city centre, they helped boost our economy by spending over £8100 in recorded sales at the Storey Gallery, alongside money spent at our makers markets and interest and visitors subsequently brought to our local arts organisations that are functioning all year long. We brought passing trade and additional footfall to our venues including Pizza Margherita, Quarterhouse and shops and restaurants in and around St Nics arcade and Market Square. We brought short term employment to the local arts community which also helps the local economy raising Lancasters Arts City profile and bringing future arts investment.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We brought employment to the local arts community paying for talk and workshop delivery - which also helps the local economy raising Lancaster's Arts City profile and bringing future arts investment to the area. We had great feedback on our professional development talks which are all available on our website with people describing them as inspiring. We introduced the local community to new skills and directed them to local organisations that can help them develop these skills.
Arts, culture & heritage
We provided a well run, vibrant and exciting event with different elements to appeal to different sections of the local community. We had great feedback during and after the event supporting our view that the event was well received and would be welcomed and supported in future years. During and after the event delivery we have had contact with other local organisations, charities and businesses wanting to get involved in future events.
Activity, health and leisure
We promoted mental well being through providing free access to creative activities which were well attended and had great feedback. People spent time creating and getting involved in the local arts community. They found out about artists offering courses and discovered new and exciting ideas. They tried new things and contributed to a relaxed, positive atmosphere where they left with something they had spent time creating.
