Help bring our arts event to the centre of Lancaster and fund fun, free creative activities and workshops for the general public whilst supporting local artists by enjoying our arts event.
Lancaster Art Fair is a free cultural event for all ages and abilities. We support artists by providing paid work opportunities and a platform for them to show and sell their work in group exhibitions and makers markets. We also provide free artist professional development talks and workshops. We provide fun, free creative activities and workshops to the public bringing communities together in a celebration of art and promoting mental well-being through creativity. We want to take the Art Fair to the streets of Lancaster by providing free city centre art workshops, pop up stalls and makers markets showcasing more of our cities artistic talent. We would like to break down barriers by being in the centre of Lancaster, raising our visibility and ability to engage the public. The Art Fair is held in the school Summer Holidays so we can provide free, engaging places for family and friends to come and connect with each other through art.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Creativity improves wellbeing! The fair brings communities together creating vibrant creative spaces for people to enjoy with family and friends. It is suitable for all ages and abilities and is a celebration of the creative talent our city and surrounding areas have to offer. Promote arts and culture in our city by supporting our community of freelance local artists and arts organisations. Our partner programme seeks to connect with local arts organisations to collaborate on creative ideas to put forth to create community impact, creating professional opportunities for freelancers and public facing activities delivered by experienced artists. Bring visitors to our city and local businesses with this fun and vibrant growing cultural event for Lancaster. Our locations are: The Storey, Lancaster Library, St Nics Arcade and Market Square. We will showcase a wide variety of work whilst getting the public involved in a hands on way showing people what a career in the arts looks like.
Steps to get it done:
This year we are working hard collaborating with established local arts organisations to substantially grow the event and deliver the best experience for everyone to enjoy. This includes doing our best to fundraise to bring the most exciting and engaging programme of activities for our participants and audiences. Our fundraising on Spacehive is focused upon our programme of free activities. We are a not-for-profit organisation run by 3 local artists who are passionate about our areas arts programme and want to celebrate our cities exceptional standard of creativity.
