More about our impact
The environment
Young people from urban areas gained a new appreciation for the countryside. They were encouraged to clean up the field, follow the countryside code and respect wildlife. We arranged and provided collective transport (minibus/coach) to avoid individual car journeys.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Feedback from the young people and their parents and youth leaders shows that the young people had gained in confidence as a result of pushing their boundaries and trying new activities. They improved their social skills by being involved in team activities and working together. This life skill is important in entering into employment and in the world of work in general.
Arts, culture & heritage
The project was primarily a sports, recreation and leisure one; as such there is no identifiable link to arts, culture and heritage.
Activity, health and leisure
Young people have enquired about returning to do these activities again and are also open to trying new sports activities as a result of their improved confidence in successfully trying new sports.
