Lancashire Association of Boys and Girls Clubs (LABGC) is a registered educational charity (No. 521362) which provides positive social development opportunities and support to disadvantaged, vulnerable and at risk young people across Lancashire, in particular across the Lancaster & Morecambe District. We are a small professional youth charity delivering a much needed service to an emerging (post Covid) voluntary youth sector. We currently have a membership of 40 youth clubs, groups and youth projects, providing positive activities, accredited opportunities and new experiences to around 2,000 children and young people each year. The majority of the organisations we support are located in areas within the top 10% of national deprivation, including Lancaster and Morecambe. These groups include sheltered housing projects, 1-1 targeted support services, specialist support groups, young carers and many more. We use the benefits adventure and outdoor learning, life skills and educational programmes, plus diversionary recreational activities, to prevent and counter the most pressing societal issues impacting young people today, including anti-social behaviour, community cohesion, resilience and wellbeing. Recently we have created a programme to capture, celebrate and convey, young people's voices (Youth Ambassadors) and we have adopted a new (to the organisation) evidence based evaluation tool for young people.
