More about our impact
The environment
We brought life and vitality and music to places - in some cases for the final time (Pendle Rise Shopping Centre) - and also re-imagining places as a mini concert venue (Exbury Egg) for private tuition and recitals.
The local economy
Visitors attracted to Finsley Wharf, Pendle Rise and Whalley Village Hall. Super conscious of Derek Berry's theories of a holistic approach to the music and entertainment industry - bringing a fully rounded eco-system to Burnley, Pendle and the Ribble Valley - through the engagement of people with Flamenco workshops - thus taking an active part in the economy too.
Volunteering, jobs & education
We had 5 volunteers assisting us through the networks of Marsden Heights Burnley - young people engaged in recording the events for a local podcast.
Arts, culture & heritage
People tend to engage when the flamenco guitar is in informal settings - and new locations are then associated with grassroots music, which is terrific - this time we ticked off, shoppings centres, forests, village halls, modern scultures. Stages are at a premium, so we brought new stages - to underused locations, hence supporting more opportunities for new performers across our arts, culture and heritage sector.
Activity, health and leisure
Pendle Rise & Whalley Village Hall saw terrific partnerships - with fabulous food and drink provided to participants. We had sustainable food partners at our events in Nelson which complemented our goals perfectly and attracted clientele who may not have engaged otherwise, in the flamenco guitar sessions. Our intuition of food always being a draw was successfully demonstrated in our events.
