I started the academy in October 2019 following research in my law dissertation which spoke on the issues of youth crime and alternative solutions to eradicating the growing epidemic.” One of the solutions I found was though sports. My dissertation ended up getting the attention of Theresa May, the PM at the time & following her resignation, Boris Johnson. They both invited me to discuss my findings in more detail on separate occasions which gave me confidence in starting the football academy. My thinking was and still is, that the government engages with the youth at too late of a stage to teach them morals and give them opportunities to learn skills which could steer them away from bad choices. This is what pushed me into starting Kixx Uxbridge Football Academy. Ranging from 18 months to 11yrs, we use football to impact their lives positively and offer a space to express their competitive nature whilst learning to deal with the emotions that come with playing sports.

What we'll deliver:

  • We will keep our monthly subscription at £35 amidst the cost of living crisis and increased hire fees
  • Employ an SEN qualified coach to help us cater to the needs of children who have additional needs more effectively
  • Purchase new equipment to make our sessions more impactful and fun to the children attending our sessions
  • Offer placement programs for students at schools in the Hayes & Southall secondary schools/colleges/6th forms

Why it's a great idea:

This fund would allow us to reduce the cost of joining our academy making it more affordable for struggling parents through this cost of living crisis. It would also allow us to offer free sessions for local churches, charities, specials needs organisations, community groups, schools & nurseries in the area to engage their children & youths attending. It will offer employment to young people in Hayes & Southall in areas like football coaching, admin, social media, nutrition & photography/videography

Steps to get it done:

  • Send emails to local 6th forms & colleges to offer placement roles for students
  • Setup interview for new SEN qualified staff & employ by the end of May
