The Larder is a social enterprise, established in 2015 with a big ambition to support people to improve their health and empower communities through food.
We have a strong ethos to make a real and sustainable difference locally within the communities we work, and we base our projects on the views and needs of the people we work with. We have extensive experience of working with people who are all too often classed as hard to reach and our expertise spans across community development, teaching, nutrition, social prescribing, community development and farming.
Founder Kay Johnson has developed and delivered nutrition programmes in disadvantaged communities in the UK and overseas for over 30 years and in 2020 she received an MBE for services to Food, Nutrition, and the Community.
