The idea
People need opportunities for connection and self-expression more than ever. This programme for Wyre will improve physical fitness and mental well-being, helping people to overcome personal challenges and find connections with others.
We've been working with local communities in Wyre since lockdown, filling gaps in provision and helping those most in need. Your support will pay for the continuation of our inclusive work; funding live and digital classes for people with neurological conditions and disabilities, and providing new public workshops and festival events for all.
Regular live sessions and digital classes will widen access for more people to have the opportunity to experience the benefits of dance and culture. Tasters, one-off workshops and performance events will encourage more people to get involved. Training for local artists will enable the continuation of activity.
What we'll deliver
- Inclusive workshops for people with disabilities and neurological conditions that support wellbeing.
- A regular online programme suitable for all will widen access to inclusive physical and creative activities.
- Taster sessions will enable more people to experience the benefits of dance and encourage them to get involved.
- Training opportunities for local artists will support the development and legacy of the project.

We work in collaboration with public services such as the NHS, social prescribers, Fleetwood Library, Healthier Fleetwood and Fleetwood Arts Partnership. We engage a local volunteer as our Community Activator who helps us reach more people in the community. This ensures we build a programme that responds to the voices of the local community, and is effectively connected to the other cultural and leisure opportunities.
