We are a not for profit Majorette Troupe based in Speke, Liverpool. We run weekly training sessions and competitions for our 45 kids ranging from age 3 to 18. All our kids are amazing and put 110% into every training session and when they are out on the dancing arena each week in competitions.
Our children range in ability and are supported by all of our trainers, parents and volunteers to be their best. These people put much of thieir spare time into the kids. We also have kids with mental health issues who may have struggle at school or find it difficult to make friends but absolutely flourish with us
Competition days are were the kids come into their own. We travel the UK and take them to Wales for an end of season championship weekend. For some of these children coming from poor families in a deprived area, it's the only time they leave the local area and have a holiday.
We keep them active by training, off the streets and engaged in a fun hobby but also teach them routine and discipline. This has shown to improve their confidence, hell them forge relationships and enjoy school life much more.
We rely on fundraising to function and due to Covid we havent been able to reach anywhere near our target to continue for the 2021 season. We organise bag packs, sponsored activities, raffles and dancing in the local area to raise funds which has been impossible due to the pandemic.
We desperately need new uniforms, batons, hall hire to train and cover bus hire to travel to our competitions. Without this important funding we would not be able to continue and this would be devastating for us all.
We charge the kids a small cost to train each week and towards bus fares. This jo way covers what we need to spend out each week. Most families would not be able to afford a rise in charges or bus fares so this is why we fundraise.
We want to hold a fundraising competition day in 2021 in our local area and need funding for this due to the reasons above. We need food, drinks, decorations and goods for stalls and activities. We will hope to recruit many more families and children from the local area to join us.
By doing this we enrol more families and get kids off the streets and out of trouble by giving them a hobby that keeps them engaged and active.
This funding would mean the world to our kids and to us. We have been going for 23 years his year and hope to still be here in in another 23 years time.
