Heart Care (Walsall Rehabilitation and Healthy Living Trust), founded by Aldridge Rotary Club, is a small, beloved local charity that has been transforming lives for 44 years. We specialise in providing expert rehabilitation services to people living with heart and lung conditions—many of whom are older adults facing complex health challenges. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to help people recover, regain confidence, and live longer, healthier lives.
We offer free, tailored rehabilitation programmes lasting two or three months, followed by long-term after care to ensure continued support and progress. These programmes are designed and delivered by our dedicated team of clinical professionals and include medically supervised exercise in our purpose-built gym, personalised dietary and lifestyle advice, and emotional support through relaxation classes and one-to-one counselling. Every element is carefully crafted to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of our patients.
Each year, we support around 1,000 individuals—many in their 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond—who come to us feeling frightened, isolated, and unsure of what the future holds. Through our compassionate care, they find strength, friendship, and hope. The impact is profound: patients not only improve their physical health but also rediscover a sense of purpose and belonging.
We serve the Walsall area, which includes some of the most socially deprived communities in the region. These areas experience disproportionately high rates of ill health, including cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. For many of our patients, Heart Care Healthy Living is the only place where they feel truly supported—where they are seen, heard, and cared for.
Our work goes far beyond rehabilitation. We create a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, share their stories, and build lasting relationships. We help people not just survive—but thrive.
Many patients and their families arrive feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Our warm, professional team works tirelessly to create a safe, supportive environment—helping individuals regain confidence, rebuild strength, and rediscover a fulfilling, active life. We show them that recovery is not only possible, but life-changing.
Put simply, Heart Care is saving and improving lives every single day. We are a lifeline for people in our community, and with continued support, we can reach even more individuals who need us most.
