The idea
This project was developed by Chester Rows Collective and will look to purchase and install bespoke signage across Chester Rows. All businesses operating on the Rows would be able to advertise their business at street level. The signage will be the same size across all locations and allow businesses to add a removable plaque to the sign with their business name on it. The signage will be developed to fit in line with current works on the Rows and help to maintain the historic significance whilst also encouraging more footfall to the businesses operating there. It is also hoped that the increase in footfall on to the Rows will help to drive further investment and ensure empty units are filled and that more small, independent businesses can find a home operating in this beautiful area.
What we'll deliver
- Install 18 signage boards on Chester Rows
- Maintain these boards and encourage businesses to use them
Why it's a great idea
This project will bring huge benefits in the way of promoting businesses on Chester Rows, increasing footfall to the area and improving the visual clarity and beauty of the Rows. The project will also benefit tourists and visitors to Chester, allowing them to have a better understanding of the unique businesses operating across the Rows and help signpost them to specific Rows. This is an investment in improving one of Chester's most prized assets and will help to ensure the Rows continue to be traded on for the next 600 years!
