More about our impact
The environment
One of the main themes which the older generation wished to pass on to the younger generation was that of protecting the world in which we live. This them carries into lyrics in the anthem.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The project succeeded in involving hundreds of young people in understanding many of the issues which faced our communities and society in recent decades through the sharing of stories by an older generation. The young people were given opportunity to explore the issues which their generation face now. There was also opportunity for people of all ages to engage in drama, singing and music making. The project will enabled a significant amount of community participation and volunteering through being part of the story sharing, chorus, live audiences and community actors.
Arts, culture & heritage
The project engaged over 200 people of all generations in the creation and performance of new work, both dramatic and musical. The final film will serve as a piece of historical and cultural legacy to serve future generations. The whole project proved to be a significant cultural contribution to the borough in 2022, promoting a sense of civic and community pride at key events for the Jubilee in Cheshire West. The project engaged people who may not ordinarily be involved in the arts, being signposted to ongoing regular activity following the completion of this work.
Activity, health and leisure
The project will provided opportunity for children, teenagers and adults of all generations to have a sustained and deeper engagement in leisure and cultural activity, improving well being, reducing the sense of isolation for many, and hopefully paving the way for ongoing activity beyond the parameters of the project.
