Hi, everyone! Martin here, on behalf of Mick, Dave and Neil. We are absolutely buzzing to share our latest update with you all. Thanks to 34 incredible backers, our Spacehive campaign for the new equipment and community space has just hit £3,630! That is a fantastic dent in our £19,854 target, and with 243 days left on the clock, we are building some brilliant momentum. However, today I want to take a moment to show you exactly what your pledges are funding. It isn't just about punchbags and boxing rings; it is about genuinely changing the trajectory of young lives in Chorley. Recently, a remarkably proud parent shared a post about one of our young boxers, Jenson, in the local Chorley Life group. When Jenson first walked through our doors 12 months ago, he had been written off by many schools and deemed "unteachable". Fast forward a year, and the transformation has been nothing short of spectacular. By finding a place where he felt a sense of trust and belonging, Jenson has shown exactly how boxing can turn a mindset into a positive. Through sheer hard work and commitment, he was crowned the Northwest boxing champion for his weight division on the 1st of March, and on the 22nd of March, he went on to win at the National Finals down in Kettering! Earlier this year, he also won the Global Glove tournament. The social media post finished with a line that means the absolute world to Dave, Mick, and all the volunteer coaches here: "Not just a boxing gym it's a life line." When you back our campaign, you are directly funding the expansion of this lifeline. You are helping us secure the space and equipment needed so that we never have to turn away another young person who has been written off. To the 34 of you who have already pledged: thank you for believing in kids like Jenson. How you can help us keep fighting: Please keep sharing our Spacehive link far and wide! Drop it into your WhatsApp groups, share it on Facebook, and mention it to local businesses. Let's get this target smashed and open our doors to even more young people who need us.
