More about our impact
The environment
The Recreation Ground was able to remain open during lockdown allowing the local community to use for recreational purposes subject to distancing rules. In addition we are able to play cricket matches now that lockdown restrictions have been eased
The local economy
It is too early to say but now that the Social Club has been able to re-open a local business can operate using the well maintained outside space
Volunteering, jobs & education
We have maintained the number of existing active volunteers and hopefully their efforts have been much appreciated in the local community and will generate future interest.
Arts, culture & heritage
The Recreation Ground (a registered charity) and the Cricket Club will have been in existence for 100 years next year and the project has helped ensure the Recreation Ground and cricket facilities are in existence for hopefully another 100 years.
Activity, health and leisure
The cricket fields continued to be used for exercise, dog walking, etc during lockdown and are now ready for a range of cricket related activity as restrictions are eased.
