The projects to improve the outdoor area aim to be inclusive, accessible and utilised by the wider community.
The current outdoor play equipment is condemned and therefore unusable. This needs redesigning and replacing. We intend to involve the children in this redesign and highlight it's use for improving mental and physical wellbeing, aswell as providing equipment that can be accessed by children with disabilities.
The adjacent woodland area also needs improving. We aim to develop this area to accomodate outdoor learning opportunities, forest skills and wildlife/wildflower conservation.
This woodland is a precious memorial wood, planted over 30 years ago. We wish to respectfully preserve this memory by creating an area of reflection and rememberance within this space.
Our aim is to provide access to the wider community to all of these new developments. These will include children with specific physical/emotional and educational needs and bereaved families.
