The Stick & Wicket Club is a sports and social club in the heart of Aldridge Town Centre. It is currently home to Aldridge Cricket Club, Walsall Phoenix Football Club, Beacon Hockey Club, Aldridge Running Club and Xtreme Pole and Dance Fitness. The oldest of these clubs, Aldridge Cricket Club, was establishhed in 1853 and has been based at the site for the majority of it's existence.
As well as offering the local and community the opportunity to particiapte in a variety of sports all year round, the Club is surrounded and in places places inersected, by public footpaths. This means that the grounds are also a popular location for the local community to engage in a wide range of activities such as walking, cycling, running and dog walking. Situated only a short walking distance from the town cente, the grounds are also a popular location for people of all ages to meet and spend time together. A retirement development is due to be finished next door to the Club in 2025 and the grounds of the club will provide and activity space for the residents.
The Sick & Wicket also has a club house with bar facilities, which is open for everyone in the community to use. It is a popular place for people from the community to use given the surrounding open space and can be booked for events and meetings.
Whether it be playing or watching sports, engaing in other outdoor activities or meeting and socialising with others, we feel that the Stick & Wicket Club offers this and more to the local community in Aldridge and beyond.
