The idea
We are looking to host an enjoyable and family friendly event at the Open Market on Brook Street in the centre of Huddersfield. The event will be open to all and it will include great music, dancing, food, drink and the chance to meet people from across the community.
It will celebrate the rich culture of the Irish community who have lived in Huddersfield for over 200 years and who have made a significant contribution in all walks of life.
The event attracts people from all communities across Huddersfield and celebrates the diversity of our local community
What we'll deliver
- Great entertainment in a relaxed, family friendly and inclusive manner
- We will showcase great music and dance at a free to attend event that can be enjoyed by families
- Host an event in a safe and controlled environment where people feel comfortable
- An enjoyable, interesting and entertaining event that is an important part of the calendar in Huddersfield
- An opportunity for people of all ages to come together and celebrate our diversity and heritage
- Provide an event that is organised and delivered by the community for the community
Why it's a great idea
It will provide entertainment and enjoyment for our local community. It will celebrate the diversity of our local community and encourage people from all communities to join together in a positive environment atmosphere. It provides an opportunity for people to celebrate their heritage and origins with other members of the community and family and friends.
