Hudds St Patrick's Day Parade 2025
We want to host an enjoyable and family friendly event celebrating Irish culture and heritage that is open to all local people. This will involve music, dance, sport and refreshments.
About the Project Creator
The first St Patrick's Parade hit the streets of Huddersfield in 2001 following the planning and fundraising efforts of a determined group of people from the Irish community. Records show that Irish people have been settling in Huddersfield and the surrounding area since the 1820's and they have made a contribution across all areas of life.
The intention has always been to showcase aspects of Irish heritage, culture and sport and to share this with people in the wider community. We aim to have an enjoyable, free and family friendly event, that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy that is in a central location within the town centre.
The format of the event has changed over the years, but the aim of the St Patrick's Parade Committee is to host an enjoyable community event. We aim to ensure that it is inclusive for all members of our local community and that people of all ages feel comfortable at the event..
We will provide music, dancing and the opportunity to try out Gaelic sport in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
