Horncastle & District Tennis Club has been at the heart of our community for over 80 years. Based at Coronation Walk in the market town of Horncastle, Lincolnshire, we are a registered Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) — which means every penny we raise goes straight back into sport for our community. We are not-for-profit, and proud of it.
With over 150 members ranging from young children to older adults, we continue to provide a community feel within our club. In 2025, we were awarded Lincolnshire Club of the Year — a recognition of the hard work our volunteers, committee, and members put in every single day. Alongside tennis, we have expanded into walking tennis and pickleball, giving our community even more ways to get active, have fun, and meet people.
Now, we are ready for our biggest project yet.
We have secured full planning permission from East Lindsey District Council to build four covered padel courts at our existing site. Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world — fast-paced, sociable, and easy to pick up whatever your age or ability. Court hire across the country can be costly, and we want Horncastle to be different. Our goal is to make padel genuinely affordable and accessible for everyone in our community, not just those who can afford premium prices.
As a CASC, every penny we raise goes directly into this project and back into sport for our community. The more we raise through this crowdfund and grant funding, the less we need to borrow — and the lower we can set our court hire prices.
Phase 1 of the build will see two courts installed, with courts three and four to follow as demand and funding grows. We already have letters of support from local secondary schools and current members, and we are working with the LTA on a loan for a portion of the build cost.
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build something that will serve our town for decades to come — a proper racket sports hub, right here in Horncastle.
We hope you will back us.
