More about our impact
The environment
It's early days to quantity this but we expect to save 15% in kwh but are unable to prove this until we have our actual gas bills but our modelling suggests that this will be achievable.
The local economy
It's difficult to quantify this as the firms we used aren't local to Tarporley. However, the contractors may well have visited local shops and cafes who would then have benefitted.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Tarporley Communtiy Centre is run by 10 Trustees who are all volunteers and 5 other volunteers. Since our project started we have recruited another Trustess who is proving invaluable. I myself gained new skills around public engagement by running this project especially the need to keep our project at the forefront of people's minds. We are hired by local volunteers to raise money for various Charities and we have got 2 more of these events planned in 2024.
Arts, culture & heritage
We continue to have a band of loyal hirers who cater for all ages from young Children to the older end of the age spectrum. We are hired on a monthly basis by The Arts Society, Tarporley and Tarporley Flower Club, both of which promote arts, culture & heritage to their members. Tarporley & District u3a hold their monthly meeting at TCC and engage speakers who promote arts, culture & heritage by hiring speakers whose presentation highlights various areas relating to arts, culture & heritage. Our large hall was hired by a member of Tarporley Rotary Club to put on an evening of Ukranian singing and dancing to raise money for good causes in Ukraine
Activity, health and leisure
We have received new bookings - a Ladies singing group and a Children's performing arts group. Two of our hirers have increased the length of their bookings. We are in negotiation with three potential new hirers who want to run classes to increase peoples health and fitness.
