halow project is a growing community-based charity in Guildford, Surrey. We support young people (16+) with a learning disability and put our young people at the forefront of decision making on their journey to independence.
It all began with Harriet, Amber, Laura, Oliver and William. These young people each have a learning disability and together were the inspiration for our charity.
Their families were concerned about their prospects and that of young people like them. In 2006, their parents got together and formed halow. Our aim is to ensure every young person with a learning disability has the same life choices and chances as anyone.
The young people we support want the opportunity to:
- Build relationships
- Become part of the community
- Find employment
- Have a home of their own
