Halas Homes started as a mother and toddle group for children with disabilities. Parents started this group as there wasnt any specialist service for them. They found it was a great place for their children to socialise and for parents to share and help each other. Over the years we have developed and now we have a care home, day centre, supported living and Halas academy, a training enviroment for adults with a learning disability. Our aim is to develop the Academy and to continue to offer life skills and training in the catering and hospitality industries. We want adults with a leaning disability and or autism to develop skills after they finish college. At the academy we offer a person centre plan to help individuals gain skills in the catering environment. They will learn about Health and safety, food hygiene, daily living skills. These new aquired skills will benefit them moving forward in life, either at home, volunteering or work. If moving into volunteering or work we will offer job support, searching for voluneering or work and c.v's. Our mission at Halas Homes is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live their life to the fullest potential. We have been running the project for over 1 year now and had almost 50 trainees complete the 12 week course.
