More about our impact
The environment
Air source heat pumps, MHRV units, solar panels, hempcrete cladding, lime render, natural, recycled, non toxic building materials wherever possible
The local economy
A socially trading organisation operating a community asset and recycling income and energy into the social and local economy
Volunteering, jobs & education
The Changing Rooms will create at least 3 new jobs and secure many more freelance employement, volunteering and training opportunities. 35 local people have been trained in the use of 'better than zero carbon' natural building material Hempcrete, including one contractor who is now avaiable to use the material in the Liverpool City Region.
Arts, culture & heritage
In aid of the crowdfunder, hundreds of people attended events over summer 2021, from landscape drawing to herbal workshops to movement and creative mindfulness, and much more. More widely, the Changing Rooms and Therapeutic Garden project has become a valued local cultural resource providing access to arts, cultural and heritage activities year round to thousands of local people of all ages and abilties.
Activity, health and leisure
The Therapeutic Garden works with around 200 people a week, offering health, wellbeing and play services and activities to people of all ages, from babies to elders. A significant proportion of our work is with people of all ages with additional needs, disabilities and long term health conditions. The Changing Rooms will promote health and wellbeing and empower preventative and holistic approaches to healthy communities.
