Gowerton SummerFun 2023

Thank you all, What a fantastic effort by our community. There were lots who doubted our ability to raise over £13,000 to make our proposed plan happen-but we got there. We will now receive your pledges and can start to pay the bills-We have a fantastic week planned. Friday July 7th: Rod Woodward luncheon and cricket match. Saturday July 8th: Tribute night. Sunday July 9th: Activity and picnic day for all the family. Tuesday July 11th: Gowerton School Concert Friday July 14th: Fundraiser to support the Andrea Heffernan Trust Saturday July 15th: Gowerton Amateur Productions cabaret night. Sunday July 16th: Gowerton Churches-Songs of Praise. More details of all the events will appear on posters around the village, social media posts and the July edition of SA4.

A fantastic donation from Emma Henderson means we have now reached our target and are overfunded. What a great community our village is. We set ourselves a really tough task of raising over £13,000 in 100 days to enable us to hire a marquee and its ancillary equipment. We've done it with 8 days to spare. The marquee will allow us to host a series of events that will have a positive impact on individual well-being whilst at the same time raising funds for local charities. We are now overfunded, but please don't let that stop you making a pledge. All monies raised will go to support developments in our village and the charities that work so hard to make it unique. As well as raising funds for village developments, other charities being supported are; Gowerton Athletic Club, Gowerton Amateur Productions, The Andrea Heffernan Trust, Gowerton's local Churches and 2Wish. Many thanks to Justine Phillips and Huw Jones for their generous donations. Even more thanks to Elizabeth Evans, Elizabeth has donated several items which Councillor Sue Jones is selling on line with all proceeds going to the appeal. Thank You.

Thanks to Photon project management and John Weaver Ltd who've just made two fantastic donations of £500 and £300 respectively. We now have 130 backers and with £12,656 pledged we are only £439 short of our target with 11 days to go. A really exciting week awaits us if we can achieve that last bit. THANK YOU.
