Stomping grounds believes in giving young people power, a space to be themselves in a non-judgemental and safe space. For us forest school involves having ‘power with’ as opposed to ‘power over’ individuals and having the flexibility to adapt and change to meet evolving needs. We believe in relationship centred approaches that are authentic and allow trust to be built, creating an intentional community where all can experience a sense of belonging. Working in nature allows us to create liminal spaces where transformation is possible for groups and they take control of their own life destiny. We want to create equitable and inclusive spaces where individuals can be fully present without labels or expectations just ‘being’ in nature is an experiential process that allows groups to see they are part of a world that is full of wonder, creativity and hope. Our vision is to engage those with the least access from all backgrounds, ages and communities meeting them where they are making best use of local resources. All we need is just a small piece of underused, under loved woodland we can connect communities with nature and show them how we fit within the system, highlighting the importance to plants, bugs, worms etc to all life on earth!
