Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.

Each 8 week block will entail 1 player & match analysis of a grassroots football match. This will be followed by 7 weeks (1 session per week) of social mobility infused workshops. The workshops will focus on life coaching & life-long learning to increase the aspirations of the players. Ideally, these would run as group sessions but 1:1's can be delivered too. Goal - Driven will provide a platform to listen to players, raise their confidence, self - esteem & build their character. We will select 5 people to up skill in online personal & social development qualifications to help empower, enrich & encourage them by raising their future employment or education prospects. To raise awareness of my project I will begin with inviting all of the local clubs consulted with to signpost their players. I will do online marketing and also offline through flyers across the communities where this project will take place. "I am goal-driven" projects will be shared online and through social media.

What we'll deliver:

  • Player & match analysis report
  • Money management session
  • Neurol - Linguistic Programming session
  • Positive affirmations session
  • Debt advice session
  • Housing register & accommodation session
  • FA learning registration session
  • The Skills Network registration session

Why it's a great idea:

Goal-Driven have an ambition to work with as many players as possible providing them with valuable tools for life & guiding them on the right path to brighter & more positive futures. The aim is to educate, inspire & bring people together from all backgrounds but also recognise that those who reside in unemployment face deep rooted problems to their social mobility. Therefore, my target audiences are players from migrant communities, at risk of offending, living in supported accommodation, suffering from low – moderate mental health issues, drug/alcohol misuse & those not in education, employment or training (NEETS). These are the real issues surrounding those who live with these experiences. Therefore, the proposal is to support the players most in need from increasing personal development, community cohesion & to give them a sense of belonging within society. Research informs you that the people who are targeted are among the most vulnerable and/or on the margins of society.

Steps to get it done:

  • Player & match analysis reports for 5 teams at grassroots football match
  • Players to attend life coaching workshop / debt & housing support
  • All players registered as members on FA Learning free online courses portal
  • Players registered on the English Athletics Association online courses portal
  • Players signposted to employment / education opportunites
  • 5 candidates selected for Level 1 Certififcate in Personal & Social Development online course

5 cohorts will be selected based on their attendance, engagement, leadership, performance, positive social behaviour and teamwork. I will enrol then on an online Level 1 Certificate In Personal & Social Development course delivered by The Skills Network. This course aims to improve the learners personal & social skills such as: Developing self Dealing with problems in daily life Individual rights & responsibilities Working towards goals Making the most out of leisure time Managing social relationships Preparation for work Working as part of a group

Our Volunteer List

We're currently looking for people to offer skills and time to develop our project! Check out the list of what we need below and then use the 'Volunteer' button to the right to get involved.
  • I am looking for help with marketing. Someone who can volunteer their skills. Also giving their advice on how social media, and traditional marketing methods, can be implemented succesfully to benefit the project. This would be my greatest wish !!
  • Our volunteers will be dressed in Goal-Driven CIC sports clothing so I am looking for a local print and embroidery business. Can you complete my order at a discount rate? You are invited to include your company logo on the clothing & all promotions.
