More about our impact
The environment
The project involved replacing a drafty old building with no insulation into a modern energy efficient building incorporating solar panels and air sourced heat pump.
The local economy
GL13 Community Hub & Library provides local employment. Currently there is one salaried member of staff however the building enables a number of community based organisations to operate locally and many employ staff specifically to carry this out.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The new community projects being run from the GL13 Community Hub & Library mostly have a volunteer organiser and/or committees made up of volunteers, a number of them involve education and a number of them involved paid staff.
Arts, culture & heritage
Music in the form of the community choir which rehearses there. Culture and Heritage in the form of the local history society which meets there.
Activity, health and leisure
Activity and health via the strength and balance group that meets there. Leisure via the lego club that meets there.
