New GL13 Community Hub & Library published their Delivery Report!3 months ago
A new Community Hub built on the site of the old Library. Supported by Stroud District Council, St Marys Church, Berkeley Town Council, Culverhay Medical Practice, Citizens Advice and others.
A purpose built building to enable the delivery of community services and activities to support the physical and mental wellbeing of the community.

This plan aligns with Stroud District Council's Health and Well-being objective of having a community hub in each of its market towns. It will bring countless community benefits, examples of which are listed below. *
Steps to get it done:
This is an iconic community project bringing health, mental & physical well-being, sports, the arts, education, employment support, citizens advice, food-bank, accommodation information, whilst driving the local economy. It's a chance to be involved in something truly amazing!

VolunteerGL13 Community hub has morphed out of the Berkeley library. The vision is to provide an exciting and comprehensive centre for the community by offering a wide range of services not currently available in the Berkeley area. Citizens Advice, employment advice, fitness and mobility support, a foodbank, a range of classes and activities to support social wellbeing, an alzheimers cafe, child and adult reading clubs, a warm place. Walking and running clubs and history clubs will be based here and much more.
The current old library building is temporary in nature and well past its designed lifespan. (Frankly it is falling down). Much work has been done and a large portion of funding has already been raised but rising building costs mean there is still a gap. Please give what you can to help us fill this gap which will enable the building needed to provide these much needed local facilities. Thank You !
