This project will deliver up to 7 large urban murals and other supportive temporary art pieces in Sunniside in Sunderland. In addition, the project will deliver creative wayfinding elements such as paste-up art trails and creative designs to cover hoardings. The aim is to grow the creative community through talent development and grow the economy through creative placemaking and wayfinding. Talent development with local creatives will support the ideas, areas and concepts around the art. Workshops with local schools and partners will take place to help define the themes of the art. There will be a carefully curated layout across Sunniside with a strong liaison with steering group leaders and local partners. World-leading artists will be selected with a production plan to deliver the murals. Community involvement will help document and celebrate the new street art. Various events will attract visitors, inform people of the new art, and allow for involvement and ownership.

What we'll deliver:

  • Talent development programme for local creatives in Sunderland
  • Use of international artists, national artists and local artists
