Fountain Fleet CIC is a Community Interest Company founded by Roxanne Rajcoomar-Hadden, a working mother of two based in Fulham. As a registered CIC, every penny raised is invested directly into the service and the community it serves.
I started Fountain Fleet because I know this problem from the inside. For four years I have been cycling the streets of Hammersmith & Fulham daily with my two children - in all weathers, navigating school gates, traffic and the impossible juggle of being a present mum while trying to build a career. I have lived every version of the school run struggle: the guilt of being late, the stress of the morning rush, the mental load of holding it all together. And I know I am not alone.
The school run falls disproportionately on mothers -forcing reduced hours, career breaks and financial compromise at exactly the moment when families need two incomes most. No affordable, reliable community solution exists. Fountain Fleet fills that gap.
We provide safeguarding-led school collections and drop-offs for primary school children in Hammersmith, Fulham and Barnes, using electrically assisted cargo bikes operated by trained, DBS-checked nanny riders. 75 local families have already registered their interest without a single penny of marketing spend. Our insurance is in place. Our riders are being trained. The only thing standing between us and launch is the bikes.
Every journey Fountain Fleet makes replaces a car trip, cleans the air at school gates, and gives a working parent their morning back. We are not just a transport service. We are community infrastructure - built by a local mum, for local families, because sometimes the person who sees the problem most clearly is the one best placed to solve it.
