We are a local voluntary group of City and Islington residents who organise annually, a free community Funday in Fortune Street Park in EC1 right next to the Barbican.
This year it will be held on Saturday 6th July 2019
The group has organised this event for 17 years. Bringing together the local community, bridging cultures, and promoting services that are available to residents. We hope people will create their own happy memories and enjoy where they live and show they are thought of and can have a say and be heard in their community. As a group we wish to promote social cohesion for all, helping to reduce isolation and promote information and advice of service providors.
We have always ensured that this event is free so it can be inclusive. The group does this by fundraising £6000. We now know that we have a very established itinerary of activities and events that have proved very popular and we always get over 500 local people on the day.

The park as you may know has a very diverse popularity, in the mornings and afternoons it is families and during the lunch time it is packed with City workers. In the afternoons and mornings you get the older population relaxing in the park. Many students from the local colleges and arts schools.
