A feasibility study of a proposed digital town trail E-Tour, designed by Alice in Wonderland Ltd in conjunction with Conwy County Borough Council, has been approved and development work has started to produce a new attraction for Llandudno!
The trail itself, devised by Alice in Wonderland Ltd, is a path that follows a specific route around the town. It is deliberately designed to move footfall, benefiting the businesses in the town. The name of the tour is “The Alice in Wonderland Digital E- Tour”.
In order to walk around the route and find the elements within it, one has to “Follow the White Rabbit”!
Amongst other things, our explorers will be guided around the route by a series of Bronze Rabbit Footprints (Directional Waymarkers). The digital e-tour (APP) is in design phase. We are currently setting up a series of meetings with key stakeholders. Our designs for the Footprints and Rabbit Way Markers are already complete and we now need to raise the funds to pay for and install them!

What we'll deliver:

  • Cast Rabbit shaped way markers will also be displayed on route and will be sponsored by local businesses.
  • Insert Bronze Circular Discs (Waymarkers) with footprints will be embedded into paving flags

Why it's a great idea:

We believe this is the first digital e-tour using augmented reality.

We want it to be the best trail in the UK.

We want to promote our heritage and culture in a fun and educational way.

We have found a project that businesses in the town wish to subscribe to.

Working with the newly formed Chamber of Trade we are going to help regenerate and rejuvenate the town

We believe we have found a way to help market the town that tourists will understand

We have the support from Conwy County Borough Council, Visit Wales and support from local businesses

We have support from friends of groups, development partnership and trade groups

The tour will encourage tourism into areas they haven't previously explored.

The project will benefit retail and other attractions.

We will produce merchandise that can be sold, benefiting the enterprise.

The project has many different strands to its bow.

Steps to get it done:

  • With the help of Conwy County Borough Council , our chosen architects and business contacts.

We are hoping that it will be the best digital e-tour and heritage trail the UK using augmented reality! For explorers who would prefer not to use digital technology, a printed version will also be available so everyone can experience the Wonders of Wonderland Llandudno.
