What a great way to start the day! Many, many thanks to #DanEllis and #JamJarCinema for stepping up to the plate and getting behind the #FiestaWhitleyBay crowdfunder. 967 local people have shown their support for what Fiesta is trying to do for our community and, with Dan’s support, pulled together a donation of £250 between them. This is a massive help towards our target and demonstrates to #NorthofTyneCombinedAuthority that Fiesta has great backing from the community. We are, most definitely, better together.

With the next Fiesta coming along on Sunday June 5th it's heartwarming that so many from the local community are coming forward to volunteer to help to make it happen. There's plenty to do: stewarding, supporting fun creative activities, playing music, running a stall and for those of us that like an early morning shift even helping to set things up on the day. This is 'our' event-let's build it together.
