The idea
Farningham Cricket Club was founded in 1857 and over the past 163 years we have endured 2 World Wars, The Spanish Flu pandemic and multiple financial crisis' still enabling communities to come together and enjoy playing and socialising together as a team.
With the global pandemic of Covid-19, Farningham CC are in grave need of support from players, members, the local community and everyone's network to keep the club alive.
With no cricket being played this year we are left in a situation of still having to pay out the costs of running the club and a lack of income from memberships, match fees and any income from the bar and social events.
We are doing everything that is possible to try to ensure that the club is here when this pandemic is over. To help the children play and support them with any traumas that they may have had to face, to bring people together and to continue to encourage the local goodwill and spirit that is being shown everyday throughout this time.
What we'll deliver
- Help to pay for critical overheads during COVID 19 crisis
- Cover ground maintenance and key running costs
Why it's a great idea
The lockdown has had a huge impact on people's physical and mental well-being. Cricket is a great form of exercise for people of all ages and we want to be able to offer this again as soon as restrictions are lifted.
Our two Saturday XI`s and Social Sunday XI are chomping at the bit to get back in to action and at Farningham CC we have a thriving junior section and ladies softball cricket squad and no doubt they will all be itching to play some cricket. With your help we can restore some normality back to life. The idyllic summer scenes of cricket at our Horton Way ground and spectators enjoying the sunshine hopefully are not too far away.
Steps to get it done
- Our club is still here to play cricket in 2021 and beyond
