The idea
New Longton Sports and Social Club is adjacent to the the children play park. To access to the play park children need to cross a busy car park which is hazardous. To coincide with the upgrade of the play park by South Ribble BC, we intend to take the opportunity to extend the spectator viewing area and to provide safe access for children to the play park via a new entrance gate to be provided by South Ribble BC at their cost.
What we'll deliver
- We will liaise with South Ribble BC about the location of the new entrance
- We will provide sustainable drainage for the both the access area and spectator area.
- Local contractor will be used to undertake the siteworks.
Why it's a great idea
The local community in general will benefit from the safer access for children using the play park.
The extended spectator viewing area can also be used as a picnic area, that will benefit the whole community, members of New Longton Sports and their visitors
Steps to get it done
- Plans and designs are complete, tenders received, work will start on receipt of funding
- Project completion within 12 months
New Longton Sports & Social Club is a registered Community Amateur Sports Club, where cricket, football, junior football, ladies softball cricket and All stars cricket (under 8 year olds) and the Dynamos (8 years to 11) is played.
The Crowd Funding will be used towards the cost of the works to the benefit of all.
