MIRADOR
Mirador is a charity which celebrates and is inspired by people discovering how magical it is when arts, heritage and culture converge.
Based in Lancashire, we are a highly experienced team that blends its expertise and know how to originate, research, develop and deliver fascinating and rewarding heritage projects that matter to communities.
We are guided by some basic principles and approaches:
- To be original and imaginative
- To deliver great heritage, art and cultural projects
- To create programmes that excite, entice and enthral
- To make and help others achieve work that matters
- To make the whole experience great fun
- To work with people to help them create a legacy
Our starting point is helping connect people, in a rewarding, tangible and enjoyable way, with their location, heritage and history. Our role as creative producers is to ensure that all engagement and participation becomes a rich celebration of people’s memories, their cultural traditions and communities, their collections and their localities as well as the monuments to the past such as buildings and landscapes.
We do this by ensuring the ‘journey through time’ provides people of all ages with absorbing, enjoyable, aspirational and challenging opportunities to test, try, train and develop their ideas in connection with their local heritage. And what makes our approach to achieving this so distinctive is that arts and creativity provide the magic to fire the imagination and help stimulate unique results.
Our proposition is to deliver a creative learning journey for all to help all participants discover and celebrate their heritage and the heritage of where they live.
At the conclusion of the extensive engagement programme, all the work/material created is distilled into an enchanting and wondrous celebration or event as part of a journey in animated heritage. In this way, we help people create a magical and memorable experience.
