Shine is an inclusive out of school club offering a safe and enriching environment and enabling parents to work knowing their children are having fun, enjoying a snack, learning and making friends.
Our passion is to provide high quality after-school care for children aged between 3 and 10 from a range of Evesham schools, while parents/carers have to work or study. We provide both formal and informal opportunities for all those who attend to enable them to SHINE in their individual ways. As an inclusive provision we cater for all children including those with autism, refugees and most recently a wheelchair user who has never been able to access such provision before. We currently operate a 'walking bus' to collect our children from their various schools but would like a minibus to enable us to collect more children, from more schools, more efficiently. As our numbers are now increasing, we may have up to 12 children to collect from a school. This makes the 'walking bus' an unpleasant and more dangerous activity in our crowded footpaths,
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
In these challenging times parents/carers are having to work longer hours and need to be confident about the care their children receive after school. More people will be able to enter paid employment, or extend their hours if we can have a wider reach across schools. The children have wonderful opportunities to develop or learn new skills in a stimulating environment with good indoor and outdoor spaces. We also provide snacks as children always work up an appetite at school!
Steps to get it done:
A minibus will enable us to offer more rewarding activities to children attending our HAF clubs eg trip to farm parks or the seaside,

Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
It is a bit of a surprise to see our target is reduced. There are two reasons we have been permitted to do this. Firstly, our numbers have increased and moving 12 children via the ‘walking bus’ through our busy towns on narrow streets. The size of the bus we originally costed would be too small, so we now need to look at a 15-17 seater, still accessible for a wheelchair. Secondly, there seem to be more minibuses available now - perhaps a result of the rising fuel costs. The availability of more and larger ‘buses has meant more competitive prices. Spacehive have permitted us to reduce our target to reflect these factors.
