Volunteering, jobs & education
Thanks to our backers making Empower Her possible, we've been able to provide sessions that have educated, inspired and equipped women of all ages with practical tools to support their wellbeing — mind, body and hormones. Through workshops with women's health experts locally, we've held sessions that have empowered women to know what's happening in their bodies, and how they can better support themselves with holistic practices. Sessions have not only covered important topics such as menopause, but also issues such a pain management and how to create strategies for coping and living with hormonal conditions. As well as educational advice, Empower Her has provided employment for local practitioners as well as numerous volunteering opportunities to help host events and support with the marketing of our activity. We were also very grateful to be supported by a local professional photographer who volunteered time in capturing our launch event, which helped us to spread news of our fantastic campaign with local press.
Activity, health and leisure
Thanks to Empower Her we organised over 21 accessible yoga classes, offered for varying needs and backgrounds. We offered menopause and hormone focused yoga and education classes and workshops, hormone-balancing aromatherapy and acupuncture sessions, women's circles, mindful moments for new mothers and support for mothers of teenagers, to name just a few. To increase accessibility in our community, all classes where either free or highly subsidised and numerous classes were offered online to increase accessibility and reach. All classes were held with connection at front and centre, providing a non-judgmental and open space where women's health topics could be openly discussed and experiences shared.
