ELCAP is a one stop shop Community Hub for not only Easington Lane but the whole of the Hetton Ward and even for the Coalfield area of Sunderland. ELCAP seeks to provide the opportunity for events, activites and initiatives for those from birth to the elderly. We seek to be as inclusive as possible and to support this we will host/support targeted groups such as Tiny Tots, Hetton Buddies and also the Disabled Club.
ELCAP is an independently managed charity with two community buildings, six mini buses and extensive grounds based in Easington Lane.
Our main building includes a purpose bulot crech with indoor and outdoor facilitiues, snooker room, computer room, charity shop, heritage museum and training rooms.
The Hall can accommodate up to 150 people and it has a commercial standard kitchen and annexe which can be used as a break out room.
The grounds include an outdoor green gym, comprising six pieces of cardiop vascular equipment, a memorial gardena and the community garden which inclides a 40ft heated polytunnel and 17 raised beds.
Our fleet of six minibuses includes three which are adapted for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility and in total can carry 93 passengers at any one time.
?ELCAP is happy and proud to work in conjunction with many local partners, ranging from Sunderland City Council, the Coalfield Area VCS Network, the Sunderland Voluntary Sector Alliance as well as many individual organisations to help plan and deliver services in the local area.
ELCAP also partners regionally through the likes of VONNE and the Coalfield Regeneration Trust in region wide inititatives, research and projects to help address regional issues such as deprivation and social isolation.
