Formed by award-winning Director and Theatre Practitioner Laura J Harris and Creative Visual Artist Terasa Newton, The Boaty Theatre Company operates with a wealth of experience, passion, and determination.
Based in Ellesmere Port, we produce award-winning, internationally recognised theatre and live performances that challenge and entertain. Our work transforms underused spaces, redefining what theatre can be. Collaborating with exceptional artists, we deliver engaging performances that push boundaries.
We offer young people real-life training in performing and production arts, providing a safe, supportive environment for personal and professional growth. Our mission extends beyond theatre walls, fostering a sense of belonging and making creative arts accessible to all.
The Boaty Theatre Company has performed at prestigious venues like St. George’s Hall, The Crucible Theatre, The Lowry, National Theatre, Storyhouse, and the Royal Shakespeare Gardens. We’ve won multiple awards, including “Children and Young People’s Organisation of the Year”, “Outstanding Contribution to the Arts”, and "Children and Young People's Wellbeing Award".
In 2023, the founders of The Boaty Theatre Company, Laura and Terasa were presented with British Empire Medals for their contributions to the Community of Ellesmere Port.
