Edible All Souls Church and Cheriton
Creation of Beautiful Edible Community spaces managed by volunteers in Cheriton which eventually expand into Folkestone and beyond.
About the Project Creator
Incredible Edible Cheriton and Broadmead formed in 2019 to brighten and beautify Cheriton. Following in the footsteps of Incredible Edible in Todmorden the group has been focussing on adding planters along the High Street, filled with edible fruit and vegetables which local people are invited to help themselves too.
The group was granted permission to create growing areas at All Souls Church in 2020. The group is focussing on the creation of a beautiful edible sensory garden at the front of All Souls Church and a forest garden at the front of the church. Local people will be invited to help themselves to fruit and vegetables as well as to be involved in this amazing project.
There is the opportunity for local people to gain new skills gardening and make new friends.
The group is keen to work with local people turning around other unloved pieces of land and the create a map of edible community areas. The group works closely with it's sister groups at the Sandgate Community Garden and Enbrook Valley community garden, as well as the John Bowley and Sherwood Almshouses .
